'Sky Italy' claims that Pep Guardiola's side are considering a move for the 21-year-old in the near future after sending scouts to watch him play in the 3-0 win over Hellas Verona back in September.
The youngster only returned to the Italian capital in the summer after spending two years with Sassuolo but is already attracting admiring glances from elsewhere.
Pellegrini has continued to impress since his return to his former side, laying on two assists in just three starts and three substitute appearances so far this season.
The Roma academy product is tipped for big things and has already made his international debut, as well as bagging an impressive four goals in 11 games for the U21s.
City are keen on the player as they looking to secure deals for some of Europe's top talents though it is unsure at this point whether Pellegrini would be keen on the move or not.
