Jasper Cillessen has made up his mind: he will leave the Camp Nou this summer. He is fed up with his lack of gametime and will try his luck elsewhere next season. Therefore, finding a new backup goalkeeper has become something of a priority for Barcelona.
However, 'AS' have suggested that this search could be over before it ever really started, as Barça are weighing up the idea of giving the spot to youth keeper Iñaki Peña.
The Catalan giants are convinced he would do well as Ter Stegen's deputee, and he has already been seen training with the first team on several occasions. In fact, he was on Barcelona's bench for the Copa del Rey final.
Barça do also have a list of goalkeepers who they are interested in signing to replace the outbound Dutchman, including André Onana from Ajax, Yan Sommer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, Wuilker Fariñez from Millonarios and Jeroen Zoet of PSV.
However, the idea of dipping into the market is looking less and less appealing to Barça, who see the 20 year-old as an ideal candidate to take the spot of Cillessen on the first team bench.
