The Borussia Dortmund winger has impressed in his first Champions League campaign this season.

Borussia Dortmund and U.S. midfielder Christian Pulisic has been named in UEFA's Champions League breakthrough team of 2016.

The 18-year-old appeared in all six of Dortmund's Champions League group stage matches this season, starting five of them. He grabbed an assist in his first career Champions League appearance against Legia Warsaw and also helped set up Dortmund's late equalizer in a 2-2 home draw with Real Madrid on Sept. 27.

Dortmund won Group F ahead of the Blancos, and will face Benfica in the round of 16 over two legs in February and March.

The German side has the most representation on the breakthrough team, as Ousmane Dembele and Raphael Guerreiro were also named alongside Pulisic.
