Christensen sparked Barca's interest

Clubs are moving around the market in search of bargains. It is the perfect time to identify players who could arrive at zero cost in just half a year.

Christensen is one of those players who, if they do not sign a new contract, will be free in June 2022. A condition that makes him very desirable.

At Chelsea they have the fly behind their ears. Tuchel himself admitted that "there is no good news" regarding his continuity. The coach fears a stampede, as Rüdiger, also a centre-back, is in the same condition.

All this has reached Barça's ears. According to Fabrizio Romano, Christensen told Chelsea three months ago that he wanted to renew. However, a mix-up between the agents meant that his signature was never put on paper.

Several clubs were interested in Christensen, including Barcelona. The Camp Nou hinted that, should he want to leave in June 2022, he would have a place at the back.

But it seems that Christensen wants to stay. The aforementioned source claims that the defender has told Chelsea that he wants to stay. 

The problem right now is still in the timing. Chelsea are asking him to make up his mind now and sign, they don't want to wait any longer. For the moment, Christensen is keeping quiet.
