The Danish defender was named Chelsea's young player of the year last season under Antonio Conte.
It appeared to be a breakout year for the 22-year-old, making 27 league appearances.
However, under new manager Maurizio Sarri, Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz have emerged as the preferred centre-back pairing for the London club.
Christensen was realistic about his season so far, having yet to play in the league this campaign.
"Right now, it's not a good season for me, but I have to find some way to get back on. How? I do not know, but it's up to myself to figure out," he said to Danish website 'Bold'.
"But right now it looks hard. We have good results and we play super good football, which only makes it harder.
"It's hard for me personally, but for the team it looks great."
When asked about the possibility of a loan move, Christensen said: "I do not know. I have not thought so, so I do not want to comment on that."
