Chelsea will go for De Ligt if they fail to sign Kounde

De Ligt hasn't been the same since he left Ajax and he had to deal with criticism about his form. Despite all that, he is still an important player for the Italian team.
With his contract finishing in 2024, agent Mino Raiola sparked rumors over De Ligt moving away from Turin, with the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano unveiling the existence of a clause in the centre-back's contract.
This means that De Ligt could have a price tag of 150 million euros next summer, a fee that not many teams would pay.
According to the 'Daily Star', Chelsea are considering the potential signing of the 22-year-old defender before that amount becomes his transfer fee. The London club still hoping to sign a centre-back after they failed to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.
The 'Blues' were not going to pay more than 50 million euros for the Frenchman, which is also what Chelsea are willing to pay for the former Ajax captain.
