Chelsea and Barcelona want to reach an agreement regarding Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso as quickly as possible. The new Chelsea owner and Laporta met for dinner in the Via Veneto restaurant this Thursday to talk business.

A busy day for Barcelona. 'Los Azulgranas' have spent the week carrying out announcements, presentations and meetings. This Thursday, club president, Joan Laporta met with the new Chelsea owner.

Barca have spent weeks negotiating a deal for Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. It appears to only be a matter of time before the two players join the Barcelona ranks. However, for this to happen, they still require Chelsea's blessing.

This Thursday, the 'GOL TV' cameras caught Todd Boehly arriving to and entering the Via Veneto restaurant, and minutes later, Joan Laporta doing the same.

At the restaurant, regulary frecuented by Salvador Dali and the customary meeting place of choice for Laporta, the two directors attended the meeting to continue talking business, with the objective of getting to or close to an agreement.

The meeting took place ahead of Chelsea's pre-season tour in Asia due to both clubs wanting business completed as quickly as possible. Azpilicueta could be signing for Barcelona on a two season deal with an option to extend by a year.

Marcos Alonso has already reached an agreement with Barca regarding personal terms. The Catalan club are hoping to pay ten million euros to bring the Spanish player's services to the Camp Nou.

On their part, Chelsea have enquired about Frenkie de Jong and Sergino Dest. However, Barcelona look set on keeping the Dutchman this summer.
