Chelsea have seen a £32 million bid for Andre Gomes rejected by Valencia, according to Sky Sports.
The Spanish side are believed to be looking for a fee of around £42m for the Portugual international, due to a clause in the player's contract which means that his former club Benfica pocket 25 per cent of any fee received.
Should the Blues offer an extra £10m, then it is believed they will be able to bring the 22-year-old to Stamford Bridge, with the La Liga outfit receiving enough money to bring in a suitable replacement.
At the moment Chelsea remain the only club to show interest in the player, so if they splash the cash Gomes will be theirs.
