Cesar Azpilicueta's future is very uncertain. Despite the fact he is a Chelsea player until the summer, the right back is already thinking about what to do afterwards.
He has two options on the table: stay at Chelsea or try his luck at Barcelona, a club very interested in his services.
According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Chelsea are clear on the offer they will make to Azpilicueta. If he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, his contract will run until 2023, in other words, a one year deal.
The Catalan paper says Barca are willing to offer him a contract of up to three years. Barca would offer him a two year deal initially until 2024 with the option of a further 12 months if he plays well.
Azpilicueta is 32, but the La Liga side are not concerned by that. The board think he would fit into Xavi's team and that is what they will tell him.
The defender, meanwhile, is clear. He will first listen to Chelsea. That said, if the offer does not persuade him, he is willing to try his luck at Barcelona.
