Baba is leaving Chelsea temporarily in search of the prominence he was not getting. The left-back has been relegated to the sidelines as a Blue for years, going out on loan to various clubs such as Mallorca, and this time his destination is PAOK in the Greek League.
The two clubs officially announced the deal in a statement on their social media channels. The player will stay with the Greek club until the end of the season. Then, the 'blue' board will have to reconsider his future.
The English club explained that the player had been recovering from injury and that his presence in the U23 squad was part of the medical team's plan to get him back into a competitive rhythm. He made three appearances this season.
"Baba Rahman is leaving on loan to Greek side PAOK for the remainder of the season. He joined Chelsea from Augsburg in the summer of 2015 and made 23 appearances in his debut season at Stamford Bridge," Chelsea said on their website.
