N'Golo Kante was one of the players most likely to leave Chelsea in the summer and he is once again likely to leave in January. Not only for financial reasons, but also because of a reported spat with Frank Lampard.
According to 'Le Parisien', the midfielder had a big argument with the manager after Lampard stopped him from going to one of his best friends' weddings before the international break. An episode which has made him ask to leave Stamford Bridge.
The story, however, has now drawn a response from Chelsea themselves. This week, the 'Daily Mail' says that club sources have mentioned that the news is false and that Kante will not leave in January. At least not for this reason.
In fact, Lampard and Kante have a cordial relationship and the footballer thanked the attitude of his coach after lockdown. Lampard allowed him to return later to training because of doubts over health protocols.
The 29 year-old midfielder has been through a few difficult months because of the pandemic, although he ended up returning to form after lockdown. He missed just one game. At the start of this campaign, he is also an undisputed starter and he has started four of the five matches so far.
