Chelsea consider major overhaul or new ground in west London

According to The Telegraph, the meeting focused on whether the Blues should remain at their historic home and undertake a major redevelopment, or relocate to a new site in Earl's Court. The discussions form part of the club's wider ambitions to significantly upgrade its facilities over the coming years.
Stamford Bridge currently holds just over 40,000 spectators and is considered limited in both capacity and infrastructure. As Chelsea look to expand, the idea of moving to a new stadium has resurfaced—though such a shift would be logistically and politically complex in a city like London.
The Telegraph also reports that the Mayor's office is "not aware of any formal proposal for Earl's Court", the site believed to be under consideration for a potential new ground. Located roughly 20 minutes' walk north of Stamford Bridge, Earl's Court has previously been floated as a possible destination.
Any relocation would also require negotiations with Chelsea Pitch Owners, the group that controls the freehold of Stamford Bridge, further complicating the process.
For now, following the latest meeting with Khan, the more viable route seems to be a comprehensive redevelopment of the club's current home rather than embarking on an entirely new build.
