Chelsea condemn racist abuse suffered by Fofana

The Blues defender shared a few screenshots revealing the vile comments he received from Arsenal fans following Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at the Emirates on Sunday in the Premier League.
"2025, stupidity and cruelty no longer hide," Fofana wrote via his Instagram stories. "It's not just football, it's not just a game when some believe that their skin colour makes them superior to others. It's time for things to change, for platforms to take action and for everyone to take responsibility."
Chelsea followed up with a statement in defence of Fofana, who was flooded with monkey emojis and racial slurs on his social media platforms. "The abuse Wes Fofana has been subjected to following yesterday’s fixture is abhorrent and will not be tolerated", the west London side stated.
The statement from Chelsea adds: "Wes and all our players have our full support. We will work with the relevant authorities in identifying the perpetrators and take the strongest possible action."
