The Champions League returned to our screens this week with the second round of 16 second legs being played on Tuesday and Wednesday. We saw some thrilling football across the four matches played; with those being Juventus v Atletico, Manchester City v Schalke, Barcelona v Lyon and Bayern Munich v Liverpool. There was certainly no scarcity of goals, but despite this the top scorers table remained relatively unchanged.
The big news is that Lionel Messi joins Robert Lewandowski on eight goals after scoring twice against Lyon at home in the Camp Nou stadium on Wednesday night. Lewandowski also took to the field on Wednesday for Bayern against Liverpool but did not score so his tally remains the same.
The pair are tied, while Dusan Tadic and Moussa Marega remain level on six goals. Sergio Aguero also jumps up the leaderboard after scoring twice at home in an absolute drubbing of visitors Schalke. Behind them lie Edin Dzeko, Andrej Kramaric, Neymar Jr.
