Team News
Tottenham:
Harry Kane is back in training and supposedly will be fit for the Champions League final after his injury sustained in the Quarter-Final against Manchester City. It will be interesting to see if the England captain starts the match or gets some time off the bench. Lucas, the man who essentially single-handedly got Tottenham to this stage of the competition with his hat-trick in Amsterdam could be dropped, with Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all likely to be starting for Spurs. Harry Winks is another of Pochettino's injury concerns heading into the biggest game of his career, although the prognosis is that he will be available for Tottenham, with Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose all likely to be fit and available after injuries of their own.
Liverpool:
Jurgen Klopp is in a similar situation to his counterpart for this tie, with his usual centre forward likely to take the place of the hero of past ties, with Roberto Firmino declared fit to play, meaning it is highly likely that Divock Origi will be dropped. Georginio Wijnaldum made a staggering difference to the Semi-Final victory over Barcelona, and it is likely he will start in a midfield trio alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Naby Keita will definitely be out of the tie, but Andrew Robertson is likely to be fit and should start. Sadio Mané is Liverpool's form man and a goal tomorrow night would make him just the 8th player to score in 2 different Champions League finals.
Managers' Thoughts
Mauricio Pochettino on Spurs incredible year and team selection for the final:
"It’s amazing to think that 10 months ago we would be here. To get to the Champions League final is the most difficult thing. We want to win."
"It’s not going to be easy to make a decision tomorrow and every game you need to take a decision. Tomorrow we will have all the information and we will take the best decision to try to win."
Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool's final last year and how lucky he feels to be on the final again:
"I have learned that a bicycle kick from 18 metres can be a goal as well. There were three strange goals that we usually don't concede. You have to accept that and go home. It's not that you discuss it after the game"
"I think I have a lucky career, I think it's lucky to sit here to be honest. It's a wonderful club, and it's a while ago that we fell in love with each other. We'll work together for a couple more years and everything is fine"
