The first leg of the tie will be played in Armenia on 10-11 July, with the second leg being played at Celtic Park seven days later.
The club will be aiming for a third appearance in three seasons in the competition's group stage, but will have to go through four ties, each with two legs, to have the chance to play Europe's elite clubs.
Should the Glasgow team faulter at any point in this qualification process, they will drop in to the next round of Europa League qualification games.
After completing a second-consecutive domestic treble, Brendan Roger's side will feel confident that they can make it once more to the group stage point, especially since the side have never lost a Champions League qualifying or play-off match under the reign of the former Liverpool manager.
Elsewhere among Scottish Premiership sides, Aberdeen, Hibernian and Rangers are all involved in the Europa League qualification process.
