Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford was, without doubt, the main news of the day on Friday. The star signing for Man Utd led the front pages on a day the now former Juventus forward was set to join Guardiola's Man City.
A lot has been spoken about in the last few hours with regards to United players' futures after Ronaldo's arrival. The player to have been especially mentioned is Edinson Cavani. Even though the 34 year-old Uruguayan striker has just renewed with the English club, rumours over a possible departure have once again resurfaced.
But 'Manchester Evening News' have reassured supporters. They say that Cavani's future will not be affected by CR7's return. Apparently, the English outfit's intention is to respect the Uruguayan's contract, another thing is whether he would be willing to regularly be on the bench.
Ctistiano Ronaldo will lead the United attack and everything suggests that Sancho will play alongside him on the right and Rashford on the left. That would leave Cavani without a starting spot. Last season, in his first campaign at Old Trafford, he ended up making 39 competitive appearances, 21 of them as a starter and he scored 17 goals.
