Edinson Cavani spoke to 'Dos en punta' about VAR in football and the way it is used. It has been criticised several times in England this season.
"You don't know why a referee awards a penalty. The referee or those looking at the cameras always decide. It's good they want to rule on offside, but now goals are disalllowed because your toenail is offside," he said.
The Uruguayan made it clear he is not in favour of VAR on many occasions and he remembered that there are places in the world where this technology does not exist.
"In a different part of the world, there's no VAR. With VAR, there's a referee who gives a penalty and then another who says no. Then you say what's the point of VAR. Sometimes it works and other times the referee doesn't even want to look at the VAR," he continued.
Cavani insisted that it's not normal for a goal to be disallowed because of a toenail or your hair: "You celebrate a goal and then they say that your toenail or hair was offside. Or that 14 passes back, someone was caught in the face and your goal no longer counts."
