Cavani could be Atletico's new signing in a matter of hours. It was both the player's and the club's wish, and it seems the story could be getting its happy ending.
'AS' reports that the player's entourage have confirmed "everything will be decided" this Monday.
Cavani's agent is said to be in the Spanish capital, where he will negotiate the terms of the contract of the player with Atlético. In other words, PSG have finally agreed to letting him go.
Fernando, the player's agent, wants Cavani to sign a contract for two and a half years, adds 'Marca', which would tie him to Atletico until 2022.
As for the transfer figures, Atlético would be willing to pay 15 million euros to PSG, no more. The French club wanted at least 20.
Last Sunday, in France, sources claimed that the player had already passed the pertinent medical examination. Cavani's entourage, however, denied this information to 'AS'.
These sources close to the striker are convinced that it will not be a problem: "You can be sure that there will be no problem with the medical tests. He is in perfect condition."
AS' affirms that, if the agreement between Cavani and Atlético takes place this Monday, Atlético could announce the signing of the Uruguayan player on Tuesday or Wednesday. This newspaper does not rule out his presence in the derby against Madrid on 1 February...
