Cavani feels betrayed by United: Boca signing moves ahead

Edinson Cavani was on the verge of leaving Old Trafford last summer. If he stayed, it was because then coach Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer persuaded him to stay.

A year ago, Cavani was on the verge of leaving for Boca Juniors. United's promise to him at the time that he would be important to the team and would not sign any other striker, the Mirror reports, made the striker change his mind and renew for another year with the Red Devils.

Cavani feels betrayed by the club. He believes that the club went back on its word and ended up signing Cristiano... and that has cost him his season. This season, Cavani has made just 17 appearances. Of those, he only started seven. He has scored two goals and provided one assist, a far cry from the 17 goals he finished the previous season with in his 39 games played.

The decision has already been made, the 'Mirror' reports. His contract expires in June 2022 and he plans to leave. His destination? According to the newspaper, he will go to Boca.  According to this source, talks with the Argentinian side "are at an advanced stage", so that would be, in principle, his next destination.

Although Cavani knows that it will be Ten Hag who will take Rangnick's place, his thinking will not change. He plans to leave Old Trafford for good this time.
