Casillas has recently taken the opportunity to continue his ongoing war of words with Jose Mourinho, by delivering another not-so subtle dig at the Manchester United boss.
Mourinho angered the Spaniard and Real Madrid fans when he refused to select the veteran as his number one goalkeeper during his three year spell at the Bernabeu. And, ever since then, the pair have addressed their poor relationship in various media interviews.
Having witness Mourinho continue to struggle at Old Trafford, the defeat at Anfield the latest result in a log line of disappointments, Casillas took the opportunity to make a jibe at his former boss.
The Spanish icon said on his personal twitter page: 'According to a Portuguese newspaper, someone said that a player like me (37 years old) is at the end of his career. Completely agree! My question is, for that newspaper: In the case of coaches, when and at what moment do you see that they are no longer there to lead a team or train?'
No doubt the feud will only continue from here, as the ever-snarky Mourinho will look to hit back at his former player at some point in the near future.
