Real Madrid took the lead against Eibar in the La Liga matchday 29 clash thanks to a great move involving Casemiro and Asensio just before half-time. Asensio had been denied by the VAR moments earlier, but this one did count.
Asensio got the ball passed to him by Casemiro, he beat a defender with his control and then shot past Dimitrovic with his left foot. He hit it so hard that he slipped just after hitting it.
That did not stop him hitting the target though. The Eibar keeper had no chance of diving to reach it and it was a major setback for the Basques after holding out for so long.
Asensio scored for the third straight match. He had netted against Atalanta in the Champions League and Celta Vigo in La Liga before the international break. It is good news for RM fans as that means they do not have to rely just on Karim Benzema to get them goals.
