The Portuguese mutually parted ways with Swans at the end of last season, after they were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship. Carvalhal had been appointed as Paul Clement's successor in December 2017.
The 52-year-old was clear, however, that he aims to continue managing in the UK, noting that he had rejected a coaching role offer at Sporting Lisbon.
Carvalhal told 'Sky Sports': ''Working in England is my total priority, and it hurts me a lot to refuse offers from English clubs, but in this moment I must support my family. I think after September I will be available, and it's my priority to be back in the UK.''
