Another positive case of coronavirus in the Premier League. This time it is Jack Butland, Crystal Palace's latest signing. He will miss the club's next match because of the virus.
"We needed to bring somebody, but as soon as Jack signed, he came back positive for coronavirus. He's stuck in a hotel room in London and bored," Hodgson said.
The goalkeeper is self-isolating so that he can be re-tested and "hopefully come back negative. The good news is that he feels well, but he's disappointed and frustrated only being able to see four walls and nothing else," he added.
Ayew also tested positive: "We've spoken a couple of times on the phone, of course, as he's self-isolating. The last time I spoke to him, he said he didn't have any symptoms, but he's disappointed because he could miss two matches," the manager concluded.
