The hosts went into the game rooted to the foot of the table, but have moved out of the relegation zone and into 16th after romping to three points.
Surprisingly, it was Bournemouth who edged a first half that was relatively even, with Nathan Ake seeing a deflected effort crash against the crossbar with Joe Hart beaten.
However, quick-fire goals from Vydra and Lennon just before the break took the game away from the 'Cherries', with the Czech reacting quickest to fire home following a scramble and Lennon sliding in at the far post to convert Johann Berg Gudmundsson's excellent ball in.
Desperate for a way back into the game, Bournemouth thre men forward as the match went on, with more and more gaps appearing at the back as a result.
Substitute Ashley Barnes staked his claim for more regular action as he finished off the rout with two late goals, first tapping home at the far post after Gudmundsson's effort had come back off the post, before finding the bottom corner just minutes later after being picked out by Lennon on the counter.
The defeat brings Bournemouth back down to earth following an impressive start to the season, though they remain sixth.
