The 'Clarets' have opened up voluntary positions as 'Match Day Heroes', which involve the validating of tickets, the directing of supporters and the checking of passes at Turf Moor.
A spokesperson said that all "here-to-help volunteers would be well looked after", though Twitter has seen responses such as "So it's like being a steward - but you don't pay them".
The spokesman also claimed that the role of a 'Match Day Hero' would be similar to that of a 2012 London Olympics 'Games Maker', which proved a big success.
"We would also like to clarify that although volunteers may not all see all of the game at which they are working, they will certainly have access when their duties are completed and they will also get clothing, refreshments and merchandise.
"We also have numerous other incentives planned to ensure that once volunteers are here at the club, that they continue to come and help and enjoy the role."
