The Italian shot stopper is a legend of the modern game, yet in his career stretching over more than two decades he has not been able to win the Champions League.
The frustration of not being able to do that was evident after the quarter-final stage last season while still playing for Juventus, when he hit out at referee Michael Oliver for awarding a match-winning penalty to Real Madrid in the last minute of the tie.
After the harsh comments from Buffon following the match, in which he was sent off for his on-field protestations, it has been confirmed that he will return in the competition following the ban.
"Buffon has a very important role for the group, to share his experiences, he will be in goal tomorrow [against Lille] and against Napoli" PSG coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed.
The Frewnch champions, like Buffon, ahve never won the Champions League, and will have to put in a big performance against Napoli after snatching a draw against them at home in the last match.
