PSG have enviable attacking options themselves in the form of Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, but the Italian is full of admiration for Liverpool's axis of Sadio Mane, Roberto firmino and Mo Salah.
With both teams vying with Napoli and Crvena Zvezda from a top-two spot in a tight Group C, their attacks are likely to prove key in deciding Wednesday night's game and indeed the group, and Buffon says he is relishing the challenge.
"Liverpool have a very strong team - but I do especially look at their front players. With Salah, Mane, and Firmino they have so much pace, so much creativity, and of course they are all big goal threats," he told 'The Mirror'.
"Throughout my career I have always wanted to test myself against the best — and at the moment you really can't think of any teams in Europe who have a better front three than Liverpool."
Mane, Salah and Firmino shone last season as Liverpool swept their way to the Champions League final, but Buffon will be hoping for a shutout in the French capital to improve his side's hopes of advancing deep into a competition that PSG are simply desperate to win.
