After recovering from a serious knee injury, Marcos Reus is set to remain at Borussia Dortmund after pledging his long-term future to the club.

Marco Reus has signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund that will keep him at the Bundesliga club until June 2023.

Reus finally overcame his injury woes and played his first game of the season in Dortmund's 2-0 Bundesliga win over Hamburg on February 10, and he has since been among the goals for Stoger's side.

The forward, who has scored 91 goals in 193 matches overall for Dortmund since joining from Monchengladbach in 2012, had been linked a host of clubs including the likes of Liverpool and AC Milan but has finally committed himself to Dortmund.

"Since I was a child I have dreamed of playing in the black and yellow for this club," said Reus who was born in Dortmund but made his Bundesliga debut with Borussia Moenchengladbach. "I have worn the Borussia shirt since 2012. I am happy and proud to be able to announce today that I will continue to wear it."

Reus, 28, has undoubted talent but his career has been fragmented by injuries which forced him out of both the last World Cup and Euro 2016. He has strung together a good run of games recently and could be returning to full fitness just in time for this summer's World Cup.
