Callum Hudson-Odoi has signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea, the club has confirmed.
The Englishman, who will turn 19 in November, has pledged his future to the Blues until at least 2024 and is regarded as a key player despite his young age. He joined Chelsea as an 8-year-old and has won many youth honours, most notably the FA Youth Cup twice. He won the Young Player of the Year award in May.
Hudson-Odoi made his international debut for Gareth Southgate's men in a 5-0 Euro 2020 qualifier against Czech Republic, picking up his 2nd in a 5-1 win away to Montenegro 3 days later.
He said, ‘It’s been a long wait but it’s done now and I’m really happy about that. I’ve been a Chelsea player since I was eight and this is the right club for me to be at. I want to lift as many trophies as possible, win as many games as possible and contribute to as many goals as I can as well. As a team, we just want to work hard to achieve the best results we can. I’m delighted everything has been agreed and now I’m just looking forward to properly getting back.’
He is currently on the brink of recovering from an Achilles injury he picked up in April.
