The number of infections and deceased in Brazil are growing at an alarming rate. Despite this, Jair Bolsonaro and his government have given the all-clear for football to return.
The Brazilian Health Minister, 'Olé' inform, "is in favour of the return of football activities, as long as all the measures presented in this regard are addressed".
"It is suggested that the Brazilian Football Confederation guarantee the performance of constant tests and evaluations, not only on athletes, but also offered to members of technical committees, employees and collaborators, as well as their respective families and close contractors," he added.
However, the situation Brazil is going through is not at all encouraging: "It is worth mentioning that, at the moment, the availability of rapid tests in the health system is saturated with the needs of the Brazilian population".
The government, and especially Bolsonaro, insists that COVID-19 doesn't have any great danger. "The possibility of a footballer dying is infinitely small," the president of Brazil said.
