Brazil:
After a premature World Cup exit at the hands of Belgium in the quarter-finals, ' A seleccao' have since recorded convincing victories against the United States, El Salvador and Saudi Arabia.
Tite is set to once again alterations to the goalkeeping options for this game, with Manchester City stopper Ederson set to make way for Liverpool's Alisson in goal.
The midfield is also set to be shuffled around; Coutinho could be put in a deeper role to allow Richarlison to come into the team in a wide position, as Fred drops to the bench.
Danilo looks sure to be given the nod at right back ahead of Fabinho, while Marcelo and Miranda should earn recalls to the starting XI.
Argentina:
Having endured a poor World Cup themselves; exiting at the round of 16 courtesy of eventual Champions France, 'La Albiceleste' have somewhat curbed their slump by recording wins against Guatemala and Iraq, as well as grinding out a tough draw with Colombia.
Under new manager Lionel Scaloni, Argentina are in a transitional phase of development, as many new faces come into the fold in place of various ageing squad members from the summer.
In the same vein, Argentina will be without their iconic captain and the best player in history, as Lionel Messi is still taking time out to consider his future within international football. Higuain, Di Maria and Aguero were omitted from the squad in a bid to give youth a chance ahead of the next World Cup in 2022.
However manager Scaloni has received a boost this month, as Otamendi and Tagliafico look set to return to the starting XI, after missing the win over Iraq due to injury. Acuna and Funes Mori will make place for the returning duo.
With regards to offensive options, Lo Celso, Salvio and Icardi could all come into the starting XI in place of Vazquez, de Paul and Martinez.
Tite's thoughts on Argentina:
"We won because he had creativity up front and that was it. Brazil versus Argentina is never a friendly. We hope to be better for that.”
Scaloni's thoughts on tactics against Brazil & the absence of Messi:
"We’ll put a bus in front of the goalkeeper,” Scaloni grinned, “and just defend."
"He’s the best player in the world, so we hope to have him back. In the meantime we have to be together as a team, be hard to beat.”
