Brazil have comfortably advanced through to the Quarter-Finals of the Copa America with a resounding 5-0 victory over Peru.
Despite Peru having all the ball in the opening exchanges, Brazil managed to turn the tide of the game in dramatic fashion.
They opened the scoring with a tap in from a corner for Casemiro, after Marquinhos' original effort hit the bar. Before long it was 2-0 after Roberto Firmino charged down the Peruvian keeper, Gallese, and then calmly slotted home with a trademark no look finish.
Brazil made it three not long later as Everton slotted home with what is fast becoming his trademark, cutting in from the left and slotting in from outside the box. With that goal, the tie was up.
Gabriel Jesus could and should've made it 4 before the break, but it was not to be his day.
The second half was a more drab affair, although Dani Alves lit up the stage with a delightul 4th Brazilian goal, some excellent passing with Arthur before calmly slotting home. This really did end the game and from then on, Brazil were in total control.
The dying minutes provided yet more drama, as Willian scored a wonderful curling effort into the right hand side to make it 5-0, before Jesus was fouled in the box and Brazil had a penalty opportunity to make it 6-0.
Jesus missed the penalty however, and had to be consoled by teammates afterwards despite the resounding win.
In the end it was a comfortable victory here for Brazil, they are through as a group winner and will as a result face a third placed team in the next round. Peru will likely still advance as one of those third placed teams, but it is still possible they could be knocked out in the group stages
