Liverpool have been on the hunt for a new attacker since Philippe Coutinho made the move to Barcelona in January. Many called for them to replace the Brazilian right away, believing that the Reds would struggle without him, but their attack held up well in the second half of the season, in part thanks to the form of Mo Salah.
However, they began the search for a new playmaker once the summer window opened, and they were on the verge of bringing in Lyon's Nabil Fekir. That deal fell through, though, and they have now had to look elsewhere.
Jurgen Klopp's side are heavily linked with Xherdan Shaqiri, but it appears the Stoke man isn't their only target. 'Calcio Insider' report that the Merseyside club have their eyes on Julian Brandt, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen.
Brandt is a 22-year-old winger, who featured at the World Cup for Germany. He was surprisingly included ahead of Leroy Sane, and made a few cameos from the bench, before 'Die Mannschaft' were knocked out in the group stages.
The aforementioned outlet state that Liverpool are weighing up a €60m bid for the German, who has been at Leverkusen since 2014.
