Borussia Dortmund:
Lucien Favre is beset by several defensive injuries, with Jermey Toljan and Marcel Schmelzer (both knee), Manuel Akanji (hip) and Raphael Guerreiro (muscle) all out. Paco Alcacer is a slight doubt, but in current form he is likely to play anyway.
Atletico:
Diego Simeone is without Jose Gimenez (thigh), but Diego Costa and Stefan Savic have travelled with the squad despite niggles.
Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer on facing Atletico Madrid:
"A toothache to play against Atletico? Well, yes, totally."
"They are a team that concede very few goals and they leave few spaces, while they're always very aware of everything.
"For a striker, it's frustrating."
Atletico manager Diego Simeone:
"We want to play a good game. Borussia Dortmund are playing very well and their fans help them a lot at home. They're top of the Bundesliga and that means that our rivals are in the best shape they've been in a long time. Tomorrow we will have to play with intelligence.
"Diego Costa's presence gives us physical and emotional strength. He was injured for a while and tomorrow we will see whether he's a starter or not. He's very excited, and when he's in this kind of state he also excites the fans, teammates and coaching staff."
