Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has apologised for his red card in the first half of the Nations League semi-final which took place this Wednesday between Italy and Spain at the San Siro. The game ended 1-2 in Spain's favour.
"I'm more angry than you, firstly with myself. I'm sorry. I apologise," Bonucci said on social media. He was sent off for two yellow cards, the first for protesting and the seond for catching Sergio Busquets with his elbow as he jumped for the ball.
Italy, who were losing 0-1 at that moment, played the final minutes of the first half and the entire second period with 10 men. That made things difficult for them and they missed out on the final. It also ended their 37 game unbeaten run.
Roberto Mancini's men, who are the European Champions, will play at the Juventus stadium on Sunday in the third place play-off against the losers of Thursday's semi between France and Belgium.
