The death of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama was one of the biggest news in recent days. His work has reached virtually every corner of the globe and this fact is underlined by the football team that has paid tribute to him with its latest kit. In Cochabamba, almost 17,000 kilometres from Toriyama's native Nagoya, Bolivian side CD Aurora used details from the Dragon Ball series on their jersey for their match against Jorge Wilstermann.
In a limited edition, as noted by the neck patch, CD Aurora included a Dragon Ball reference on the centre chest, another with Goku with wings on the side of the jersey accompanied by the inscription 1955-∞ and a dragon with the magic balls on the side of the sleeve.
Most notably, the background of the jerseys worn by the players was composed of scenes from the manga, which delighted both football jersey collectors and fans of the series.
It is not known whether the Bolivian club will decide to market the jersey internationally in the future, but there is every indication that the jerseys worn in the 1-1 draw against Jorge Wilstermann will be unique in history, increasing their value to those who might try to get their hands on them on the secondary market.
