And in Germany, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his remarkable scoring run with two of his own for Borussia Dortmund in their 4-1 win over Stuttgart, the Gabon striker's 16th and 17th goals of the season.

    ENGLAND

    YANNICK BOLASIE (Crystal Palace)

Bolasie was the star man as Palace routed Newcastle 5-1, scoring twice to double his tally of goals for the season. The Democratic Republic of Congo winger opened his account in the 17th minute, drilling home left-footed from Connor Wickham's low cross, and added a second early in the second half when he volleyed in from close range after Damian Delaney had helped on Yohan Cabaye's free-kick.

    PAPISS CISSE (Newcastle)

It proved a chastening trip to southeast London for Newcastle, but it started in promising fashion thanks to Cisse. The Senegal striker marked his return to Steve McClaren's starting XI by scoring his first goal since the opening day in the 10th minute, converting Daryl Janmaat's right-wing cross with a firm downward header.

    ODION IGHALO (Watford)

Nigeria striker Ighalo continued his slick adaptation to Premier League football by scoring his eighth goal of the campaign -- and 24th of the calendar year -- in Watford's 3-2 win at bottom club Aston Villa. Ighalo opened the scoring in the 17th minute, stabbing a shot past Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan after the ball ricocheted into his path.

    JORDAN AYEW (Aston Villa)

Ayew's third goal of the campaign earned the home team a late consolation at Villa Park. The Ghana striker, younger brother of Swansea City midfielder Andre Ayew, gathered a pass from Kieran Richardson in the 89th minute, turned away from his marker and bent a low shot into the bottom-right corner from the edge of the box.

    RIYAD MAHREZ (Leicester City)

Algeria winger Mahrez did not make a decisive contribution in his side's 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United, but he was one of the hosts' star performers. One run down the right flank mid-way through the second half left three defenders trailing in his wake before he slid a pass through to Leonardo Ulloa, whose shot was repelled by United goalkeeper David de Gea.

    GERMANY

    PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Borussia Dortmund)

The Gabon striker hit his 16th and 17th goals of the season in Borussia Dortmund's 4-1 win over Stuttgart. With 17 goals so far, Aubameyang has already bettered last season's tally of 16 in his 33 matches and has scored in all bar two of Dortmund's 14 Bundesliga games this season.

    ANTHONY UJAH (Werder Bremen)

The Nigeria striker scored his sixth goal of the season in Werder Bremen's 3-1 defeat at home to Hamburg. With his side 2-0 down, Ujah hit the top left-hand corner of the net on 62 minutes after chesting down Philipp Bargfrede's pass.

    YOUSSEF EL ARABI (Granada)

Moroccan forward El Arabi notched just his third goal of the season to inspire a Granada comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Malaga.

    FRANCE

    BENJAMIN MOUKANDJO (Lorient)

Unheralded Cameroon international Moukandjo struck a 31st-minute penalty to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw at Gazelec Ajaccio. It took him top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts on 11. The 27-year-old only joined the modest Brittany outfit from Ligue 1 rivals Reims in the summer.

    CASIMIR NINGA (Montpellier)

The 22-year-old Chad striker scored in the 11th and 48th minutes as Montpellier deepened the gloom at title hopefuls Lyon with a 4-2 win. Ninga, in his first season with Montpellier, now has three goals for the campaign so far.

    UMAR SADIQ (Roma)

Nigerian midfielder Umar Sadiq's second appearance for Roma will likely be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Roma were aleady a goal down from Alejandro Gomez's 40th minute rocket at the Stadio Olimpico when Sadiq came on to replace Iago Falque 17 minutes into the second half. The teenager paced up and down the right flank, firing in a couple of deliveries which ultimately came to nothing. Roma were condemned to a 2-0 defeat when German Denis hit Atalanta's second from the spot on 82 minutes.
