The father of the Arsenal footballer was the one who alerted Egyptian authorities after discovering the person dead in the patio. Other media outlets like 'Mundo Deportivo' and 'Gazzetta dello Sport' have also reported this story.
Investigators in the Egyptian city went to the scene to carry out the pertinent investigation and to identify the body. Formal identification has yet to take place.
Neither Mohamed Elneny nor Arsenal have spoken about the incident. It is still under investigation to determine whether it was a criminal act or an accident.
Elneny is on the way out of Arsenal. He has still not returned after playing the African Cup of Nations for Egypt and the midfielder will leave to get some game time he has not been able to get under Emery.
It is not the first time the club have been in the news this week because of an off the field incident. Ozil, when he was in his car just outside the restaurant, was threatened at knifepoint. Kolasinac, who was with him, jumped out of the vehicle to scare off the thieves.
