The 'Cottagers' produced an amazing 23-game run last season to reach the Play-Off final and beat Aston Villa, with Bettenelli being a key part of the team in net.
A former England U-21 international, Bettenelli has been at Fulham his whole career but has been in an out of the team.
The form that saw him concede just 19 goals in the campaign made him think that he would be the starting keeper for Slavisa Jokanovic going in to the league, but the late arrivals of Sergio Rico and Fabri mean that this will not be the case.
Bettinelli took to social media ahead of his club's first game of the season against Crystal Palace to thanks fans for their support, despite him being omitted from the squad to face their London rivals.
Should he not get a look-in in coming games it is likely that the keeper will leave Fulham, with a host of clubs interested in his signature should that be the case.
