Bernardo Silva says De Bruyne was best of 2017-18 and not Salah

Bernardo Silva has it very clear. In the season that Manchester City controlled the Premier League and De Bruyne was one of their leaders, he deserved the award. Salah won it in the end, but the Portuguese doesn't agree.

"Three years ago we won the league, Liverpool were 30 points behind and De Bruyne had an incredible season. However, Salah scored a lot of goals and was awarded the best player award, and I'm not saying he's a bad player", Bernardo affirmed.

So why did they give the trophy to Salah in his opinion? "Some clubs have more power and more reach with the media and organisations than others," explained the footballer. He believes that Liverpool are more media-friendly than City, hence the triumph of their player.

This season, it is Klopp's men that are dominating the league standings in England by quite some margin. The most likely thing is that they end up winning the league without major problems and that one of their players is recognised as the best.
