Manchester City defeated Burnley 2-0 in their Premier League clash. 'The Skyblues' could have scored many more as Bernardo Silva had a superb game. Pep Guardiola praised the Portuguese midfielder in the post-match interviews.
“Yeah, he is in his best form alongside Rodri - both played incredibly well in the last four or five games, Bernardo is in the same level he played in the season when we won with 98 points and he was out of this world. We are incredibly lucky to have him.The only thing I want is his happiness. This type of person deserves the best”, he said.
Guardiola also analyzed the game in talks with 'BBC Sport': "After the international break, it is always difficult to get the team's form back and I know how good Burnley is. They played a great game, they have great players and we played a very good 15-20 minutes in the first-half. During the last 20 minutes we lost our rhythm".
"We played a fantastic second half and we could have scored more goals. Good result, it is great to win after the international break and now we look forward for the next game. We run and fight for every ball, Burnley plays long balls and they have mastered that. You need to be able to defend well on set pieces and anything could have happened if Chris Wood had scored that late goal. We had our chances but unfortunately we couldn't score more", claimed Guardiola to 'BBC Sport".
