Benzema scored against PSG after 13 years

On 30th July 2006, Karim Benzema scored, in a Lyon shirt, a goal against PSG in the French Super Cup. Since then, the Frenchman had not scored in a competitive fixture against the Parisian outfit. 

Too much time for a striker of Karim Benzema's calibre. At the Bernabeu, he finally stopped the rot after 13 years. 

He had gone 10 games, both for Lyon and Real Madrid, without netting versus PSG. 

Karim Benzema is in great form. His brace allowed Real Madrid to sense victory. A victory which slipped away from them in the last few minutes. The number '9' is on fire and this time it was against a bogey side for him. 

After Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, Benzema took on the baton from the Portuguese. Even more so this season, where he has scored the opening goal in eight of the ten matches in which he has got on the scoresheet.
