Real Madrid began training on Friday morning at the Valdebebas sports complex without Karim Benzwma. After the missing the match with Inter Milan, the coaching staff would rather not risk him and the striker has been left out again.
At the beginning of the week, Benzema worked in the gym feeling the effects of some muscle problems which prevented him from travelling to Italy. He is still not 100% and he has been ruled of the game just over 24 hours before kick off.
The adductor injury which he suffered at the Mestalla against Valencia has meant the club would rather not rush him back before time. It remains to be seen whether he will be available for the Champions League game at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday (18:55 CET).
Given the absence of Benzema, Zinedine Zidane called up Hugo Duro from the B team as well as academy player Victor Chust. Fede Valverde, Alvaro Odriozola and Sergio Ramos did not take place in training either.
