Benzema made his mark early on in the game between France and Wales.
After four minutes, the Real Madrid man headed at keeper Ward. Then, in the 25th minute, he won a penalty for France.
Pogba shot a cross into the area and forced the Welsh keeper to make a great save. The rebound fell to Benzema whose shot was blocked by Neco Williams.
But Williams used his arms to block Benzema's effort. The referee did not spot it live, but after a VAR review, the referee gave a penalty and a red card as the shot was going on target. There was no leniancy shown despite it being a friendly.
Benzema was the man to take the penalty, but the striker was unable to score. Ward made a fine save to his right to keep it at 0-0.
