It looked a struggle for Juventus to get past the compact Udinese defence, until just after the half-hour mark when Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristiano Ronaldo scored in quick succession to earn Juventus a lead.

Uruguay international Rodrigo Bentancur handed the 'Bianconeri' the lead in the 33rd minute, with a well-timed header past Simone Scuffet in the Udinese goal.

Receiving the ball from Dybala, the midfielder played a one-two with right-back Joao Cancelo, receiving the ball high in the air in the 18-yard box.

Bentancur climbed highest in the box, and headed past Scuffet just as Ronaldo was arriving behind him.

The second goal allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to show his unparallelled striking technique.

Mandzukic was able to hold the ball up in the area before the Portuguese arrived.

Receiving a well-weighted lay off from the Croatian, Ronaldo smashed the ball past Scuffet from 15 yards on his left foot, with the power catching out the defence and goalkeeper.

The ball nestled in the corner of the Udinese goal, handing the 'Old Lady' a two-goal cushion at the Stadio Friuli.
