According to 'TyCSports', the Benfica and River Plate boards have reached an agreement in principle for Enzo Fernandez, one of River's best players together with Julian Alvarez.
The Portuguese side will spend 18 million euros to get 75% of the player's rights. He has just had a good seasons and he attracted the interest of important clubs such as Real Madrid and Man Utd.
There has still not been an official announcement as there are some details left to sort out. That will be done once everything has been completed.
Now, in Argentina they are are saying that River Plate's board told the Portuguese side that, in order for the deal to be completed, Fernandez can only move to Portugal once his participation in the Copa Libertadores is over. That tournament ends in October.
Everything seems to indicate that the 21 year-old midfielder will move to Benfica just before or after the 2022 World Cup if River make it all the way to the final.
