Bellingham to undergo shoulder surgery, expected out for three months

Bellingham has taken the definitive step to resolve the persistent issue in his left shoulder. As previously rumoured following the Club World Cup, the 22-year-old will undergo surgery at a clinic in London to put an end to a long-standing injury that has hampered him for months.

The problem dates back to 5 November 2023, when he suffered a dislocation in a La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano. Since then, he has been struggling with limited mobility in the joint and has often played with strapping and under pain management.

Despite enduring the discomfort for nearly 20 months, the midfielder continued to feature regularly for Real Madrid. Having delayed surgery until after the Club World Cup, Bellingham has now opted for the procedure to return in peak condition.

Los Blancos have been fully informed throughout the process, and all parties agreed on the timing. Initial estimates suggest a recovery period of between 10 and 12 weeks, meaning the midfielder is likely to miss around three months of action.
