The General Assembly of the Belgian Football Association decided on Monday to postpone the voting to decide whether to end the competition or not until 4th May.
"The clubs decided by a large majority to postpone the vote on the recommendation issued on 2nd April by the board of directors of the 'Pro League' to end the championship to the meeting scheduled for 4th May," the Professional League said in a statement.
The board's proposal to terminate the Belgian League provoked strong criticism from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, who warned that such a move could jeopardise Belgian teams' participation in European competitions.
