"Being Barca president is a dream I've always had"
The Barca centre-back, who recently got a serious injury, responded to questions from several children through the CRIS Foundation which helps in the fight against cancer. The '3' did not dodge any question despite the fact the majority of them were very interesting ones. One of them talked about him potentially becoming the Barca president in the future.
"I'm a massive Barcelona fan. In the future, I'd love to help the club and I'd need to prepare myself very well to be able to act as president if I see some day that I help Barca in that way. I'll decide that in the future, but it's a dream I've always had," he said.
In the same way, Gerard also talked about two delicate issues at Barca in the last two months: the departure of Luis Suarez and the doubts over Leo Messi's future in the Catalan capital.
"I was sad when Luis Suarez left. He's been at the club for many years, they spent a lot of hours with him and we shared a lot of things. On Leo, we all hope he stays for more time, but it's his decision," he explained.
Lastly, the defender was asked who he thought the best coach was. "The genius is Pep Guardiola, he's at another level. Although I've had other very great coaches like Sir Alex Ferguson, Luis Enrique, Vicente del Bosque, Ernesto Valverde...," he concluded.
